BPE - Bachelor of Physical Education

BScOT - Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. This is a 4 year degree program offered through Universities and is the required designation for the practice of Occupational Therapy

BScPT - Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. This is a 4 Year degree program offered through Universities and is one of the required designations for the practice of Physical Therapy.

B.P.T. - Bachelor of Physical Therapy. This is a university degree obtained in a one year degree program which was offered several years ago. It was required that a 3-year diploma program in Physical Therapy be completed prior to the degree program.

CAFCI - Certificate w/ Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute

CGIMS - Certified Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation. This designation requires advanced training in acupuncture and/or manual therapy before pursuing specific IMS training and practicum experience offered through the Institute for the Study & Treatment of Pain (iSTOP) in Vancouver, BC. MPT - Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. In recent years to practice as a Physical Therapist, it is now required that an undergrad degree is completed before applying to the 3-year Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.

MVA - Motor Vehicle Accident

NHPC - Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. All professional massage therapists must be members of this association to practice massage therapy as a registered practitioner.

FCAMT - Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. For this designation, completion of post graduate education and certification in advanced mobilizations and manipulation techniques for the spine and extremities is required. Several written and practical exams are part of the certification process. ( www.manippt.org )

RCAMT - Resident of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. For this designation, completion of post graduate education and certification in advanced mobilizations of the spine and manipulation of the extremities is required. RMT - Registered Massage Therapist
